Multi-tasking and adaptability are key during this course. SSI XR Technical Extended Range Diving Course takes it up a notch by introducing another cylinder and gas - Helium. You’ll learn how to safely use pure oxygen during technical dives and different emergency protocols depending on the situation.

Course Pre-requisite

  • At least 18 years old

  • 50 Open Water Dives

  • SSI Enriched Air Nitrox or equivalent

  • SSI Deep Diving or equivalent

  • SSI XR Extended Range Nitrox Diving or equivalent

  • SSI XR Sidemount Diving or equivalent (if doing the course in sidemount)

Course Equipment

  • 2 Stage Cylinder and Regulator

  • Primary and Back-up Multi-gas Computer or Bottom Timer

  • SMBs with Spool/Reel for appropriate depths

  • Back-up Mask

Course Components

  • Knowledge Development with Written Exam

  • SSI XR Water Fitness Evaluation

  • Confined Water Skills Development

  • 6 Open Water Training Dives

Course Options

- This course can be done in conjunction with:

  • SSI XR Technical Wreck Diving (if already certified SSI XR Wreck Diving or equivalent)

  • SSI XR Full Cave Diving (if already certified SSI XR Cave Diving or equivalent)
