Fine tune your skills in any equipment configuration you want and learn skills across different equipment configurations at the same time. SSI XR Foundations Course is also a good way to find out what’s lacking and what’s next in both recreational and technical diving.

Course Pre-requisite

  • At least 16 years old

  • 24 Open Water Dives

  • SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent

Course Equipment

  • To get the most benefits out of this course, you should choose to be configured to your highest certification level and carry your usual dive equipment

Course Components

  • Equipment Configuration Sessions for your applicable certification level - Recreational, Technical or Sidemount

  • Confined Water Development Session, with a cumulative time of 420 minutes

  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain trim at +/- 30 degrees (Recreational Level) or +/- 15 degrees (Technical Level)

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform skills adequately with little shift or no shift in buoyancy and trim

  • Demonstrate basic awareness of buoyancy, trim, stability, propulsion and teamwork
